DISTRICT FIELD GUIDE

Curated escapes for D.C. professionals

The Objective

To provide busy professionals in D.C. with curated escapes—walkable experiences in food, culture, and wellness that fit within a lunch break or just after work. Each destination is selected for its relevance, variety, and ease of access.

Destinations organized by category

A details page with photos, descriptions and distance

A navigation page with highlighted route and travel time

The Result

A streamlined mobile app with a clear interface and thoughtful design—built for professionals seeking variety, simplicity, and a more intentional way to spend their break

The Process

As return-to-office orders reshaped daily routines, I saw an opportunity to make in-office days more engaging.

The idea: build a simple, purposeful tool that helps professionals explore D.C. beyond the usual.

I began by compiling personal favorites, then used ChatGPT to expand the list—prioritizing places that felt authentic and overlooked. I mapped user flows in FigJam, used Uizard to generate rapid wireframes, and moved to Figma for the final prototype.

The goal was to use AI tools strategically—accelerating early-stage ideation while applying human curation and UX discipline at every step.
